Resident supports Sherwood Middle School plan To the Editor,No one doubts that Shrewsbury Sherwood Middle School needs help. The question is what is the best way to solve the problem. My wife and I have watched and reviewed the proposals as to build, renovate or do nothing. We think the Building Committee responsible for the study to determine the best route to take should be commended for the excellent results to date. We appreciate their in-depth analysis to determine what is best for Shrewsbury’s short and long term educational needs. It seems apparent that the MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority) also agrees with the Building Committee that the overall cost effective analysis to build a new school was the right choice and has committed approximately $24 million toward the project. Shrewsbury’s residential community should feel comfortable with supporting the new school now that a complete study was done prior to the Commonwealth’s approval. My wife and I and all our eight children attended Shrewsbury schools from grade 1 to 12 and are proud that we did.
We look forward to a new Sherwood Middle School that will better serve Shrewsbury’s current and future children. |
