Harvest moon walk Oct. 5

Shrewsbury – Come enjoy a walk under the full Harvest Moon Thursday, Oct. 5, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Lake Street Park, 430 Lake St. The Shrewsbury Trails Committee is sponsoring the walk, and members will talk about the stories, myths and music that have been inspired by earth’s brilliant natural satellite.

Hudson Catholic High class of 1972 gathers for 45th reunion

Region – Memories, updates and humorous senior moments were shared Aug. 26 as members of the Hudson Catholic High class of 1972 gathered for their 45-year reunion. The setting was an informal barbecue at the Bolton home of classmates Mary McQuillan Codyer and David Codyer, who organized the reunion with Ed Karvoski Jr. The menu featured grilled hamburgers, veggie burgers and chicken breasts with various salads.

Motorcycle ride memorializes Spc. Brian K. Arsenault

Northborough – This year, 280 motorcyclists and many passengers travelled approximately 45 miles through six towns Sept. 23 for the second annual Spc. Brian K. Arsenault Memorial Ride, beginning and ending at the Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post 234 in Northborough. A Bronze Star recipient and 2004 Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) graduate, Spc. Arsenault was killed in action in Afghanistan at age 28 in 2014.

‘Writing Away Your Pain’ workshop to be held at Tower Hill Botanic Garden

Region – Marlborough resident Trish Finlay will be hosting a three-week workshop, “Writing Away Your Pain,” at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Drive, Boylston, on Thursdays, Oct. 5, 12 and 19, from 10-12:30 p.m. each session. The cost is $75 for Tower Hill members and $90 for non-members.

Worcester Railers Hockey Club announces exhibition game schedule

Worcester – The Worcester Railers Hockey Club, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New York Islanders, recently announced their exhibition game schedule in preparation for the Railers HC inaugural season set to start Saturday, Oct. 14 at the DCU Center.

Hudson memorial 5K to benefit Brain Injury Association

Hudson – On Dec. 9, 2016, John Deane suffered a fall near his family’s Hudson home, which caused brain injuries and left him in a coma. He passed away 10 days later at age 54, leaving his wife, Meg, and their four children. Her close friends and family have organized a memorial 5K run and walk titled John’s Sea of Green to benefit the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts.

Tour of historic Westborough train depot Sept. 24

Westborough – The Westborough Historical Society will hold a tour of the redesigned c.1899 train depot, now the offices of Waterman Associates, 31 E. Main St., from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.

Fellowship Table at Mount Olivet Sept. 24

Shrewsbury – Mount Olivet Lutheran Church is once again hosting its Fellowship Table at the North Pavilion in Dean Park in Shrewsbury Sunday, Sept. 24, beginning at 10 a.m. The Fellowship Table is an outdoor worship service and community meal.

Northborough Library to host ‘Peace Dove’ exhibit

Northborough – The Northborough Free Library, 34 Main St., will host an exhibition of posters featuring the peace dove during the month of October. These posters were created by various artists, for various organizations, in several countries, over the last 60 years.
