Third-grader Owen Wise tries his hand at operating a wringer washer during Tin Cup Adventure, an educational program about pioneer living, held Feb. 3 at Kane Elementary School. The traveling hands-on museum was stationed in the gym throughout the day for third-graders, and students of all grades and their families attended an evening presentation. Various displays offered activities such as panning for gold, playing with handmade wooden toys, rolling out bread dough and making beaded necklaces from pasta. A popular activity among the young students was the chance to suds up their faces with a lather brush and shave with a butter knife. The cultural arts program was presented by the Kane Parent Teacher Organization.
