Marlborough – Raymond P. Tuzi, 63, formerly of Marlborough, died Monday Feb. 21, 2011 at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla. He was the husband of Patricia C. (Sweeney) Tuzi for the last 10 years.

Born and raised in Marlborough, the son of the late Andrew and Alice (Staniunas) Tuzi, he was a graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1965.

Mr. Tuzi was employed by the City of Marlborough for many years, working for the Department of Public Works, and was a member of the State, County and Municipal Employees Association.

An avid car collector, he owned many classics over the years, including his mint Ford Thunderbird. He loved being with people and before moving to Florida, he was known as the unofficial mayor of Marlborough, meeting his friends daily at The Diner on Lincoln Street to discuss the news of the day. He was a fun-loving, kind and compassionate family man.

Besides his wife, he leaves his sister, Andrea L. Edmonds and her husband, Michael, of Chino Valley, Ariz.; a nephew, Marco Troio of Millbury, and a niece, Michelle Edmonds of Clinton; and his goddaughter, Katelyn McDevitt of Marlborough.

Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
