Fales School in Westborough celebrates “Read Across America” Day

Westborough – In a day and age of multiple cable stations and instant online access for almost anything one might need or want to know, the pleasures of reading can sometimes take a backseat. But each year across the nation, reading is back brightly in the spotlight as children and members of their communities come together to celebrate “Read Across America.”

Started by the National Education Association in 1998, the event normally takes place during the week of March 2, the birthday of famed children's author Dr. Seuss. This year, the Fales Elementary School in Westborough celebrated the event March 4. That morning, each class had a guest reader who read them a special book. The guests then also spoke to the students about what they do in the community.
