Shrewsbury – Jordan Ross, 13, of Shrewsbury was among 60 members of the Bluefish Swim Club to qualify for and compete at the New England Swimming 13-19 Age Group Championship meet held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, March 4 to 7. The team won the championship with 2,482 points. The top 13- to 19-yearold swimmers from 54 New England-based swim teams competed. With 106 points, Ross ranked 8th place overall for 13-14 Boys.

Rachel McMenemy, 10, of Northborough and Madison Ross, 10, of Shrewsbury also competed at a New England Swimming Regional Meet held at Mayers Natatorium in Seekonk in February. The Seekonk competition consisted of 657 swimmers from 14 New England-based swim teams. Mc- Menemy won the Female 9-10 50-yard fly (32.40), backstroke (35.95), and freestyle (30.73) and earned 5th place in the 100-yard freestyle (1:11.34), 6th place in the 100-yard IM (1:22.98), and 16th place in the 200- yard freestyle (2:46.84). She was also the anchor of the Girls 9-10 team that took second place in the 200-yard medley relay (2:28.01).

Ross won the Female 9-10 100-yard IM (1:20.17), and ranked second in the 200-yard IM (2:50.69), third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:21.22), fourth in the 50-yard backstroke (37.54) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:36.58), fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke (44.08), and ninth in the 50-yard freestyle (32.95). She was also a key member of the Girls 9-10 team that took second place in the 200-yard medley relay.
