Shrewsbury – Ariana Snell, 7, keeps her eye on the ball while taking a swing during the Softball Skills Clinic offered Feb. 20 by the coaches of the Shrewsbury Shockers at the Oak Middle School gym. The three-hour clinic for girls in grades two through eight was geared to strengthen a player's skills in hitting, throwing and fielding. For the 2011 season, the program will have six teams for girls under ages 10 through 16. The Shockers are planning to add position players for the under-12 level and a pitcher for the under-14 level.
