Berlin – Phyllis A. Stanis, 71, formerly of Hudson, died Thursday April 21, 2011 at her residence.
Born in Marlborough, daughter of the late Michael J. and Philomena (Olisky) Pauplis, she was raised in Hudson were she attended Saint Michael's Grammar School and was a graduate of Saint Michael's Academy. She had resided in Berlin the past 20 years.
Ms. Stanis was formerly employed as an aide for Bolton Manor Nursing Home in Marlborough and also was employed as a clerk for the former Grant's Department Store in Marlborough. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her six siblings, Diane Pauplis, Leonard Pauplis and wife Jeannette, Alfred Pauplis, William Pauplis and wife Mary, all of Hudson, John Pauplis of Wayland, and Genia Pauplis of Walnut Creek, Calif., and was predeceased by her brother, Michael Pauplas, and sister, Johanna Pauplis. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated April 25 from Saint Michael's Church of Hudson, with burial in Saint Michael's Cemetery. The Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson assisted with arrangements. For online condolences, visit www.tighehamilton.com.
