Southborough – Ralph E. Hollis, 94, died Tuesday April 19, 2011, at his home. He was the husband of Lillian M. (Sullivan) Hollis, who passed away in 2007. He was a sergeant in the State Guard for six years during World War II.

Mr. Hollis was an experimental machinist for the former Dennison Manufacturing of Framingham for 31 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of United Brethren Lodge A. F. & A. M. of Marlborough and a member of I.A.M., where he was a past president. He was also treasurer of Marlborough Fish and Game, an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and was a devoted Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Marilyn Hollis, Kathlyn McHugh and Nancy Wheeler; his sons, David Hollis and Ralph Hollis Jr.; and his eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Richard J. Hollis.

The Hollis family would like to thank the neighbors for their support and kindness which enabled Mr. Hollis to live comfortably at home.
