Leland S. Marshall, 92Northborough – Leland S. Marshall, 92, died Sunday May 29, 2011, at Coleman House in Northborough.

He leaves his devoted wife of 69 years, Evelyn M. (Flanders) Marshall; two daughters, Pamela J. Marshall and her husband, David Emerson, of Lexington and Katherine M. Galdi and her husband, David, of Millersville, Md.; three grandsons, Benjamin, Michael and Daniel Galdi; and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Methuen, the son of Fred K.R. and Edith (Smith) Marshall, he lived in Northborough since 1966. He served in the army during World War II in the South Pacific.

Mr. Marshall graduated from Drury High School in North Adams in 1938 and the University of Vermont in 1948. He was employed with New England Electric in Westborough for 35 years, retiring in 1983.

He was an active member of Trinity Church and sang in the church choir. He enjoyed the cabin he built on Ashuelot Pond in Washington, N.H., and loved steam trains and steam train shows. He also enjoyed gardening, photography and trips to mountain ranges worldwide.

A memorial service was held June 1 at Trinity Church of Northborough, with private burial. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough assisted with arrangements.
