Region – By law, municipalities must submit a plan for a reorganization of precincts to the state a year after census results are released. Locally, it appears that Shrewsbury will need to add a precinct and Westborough will need to reconfigure the boundaries of its five precincts. A bigger issue for many municipalities is not how their local precincts are drawn but rather how the state is divided up for legislative representation. Also on local officials’ minds is how to get more people to come out to vote in the first place.
