Marlborough – Clifford H. “Cliff” Blair, 85, died at his home Sunday morning June 12, 2011, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Norine (Cahillane) Blair.
Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Allie Blair and Marie (Letourneau) Blair, who died when he was a young child. He was also the stepson of the late Ruth Blair. He lived in Marlborough for the past 50 years.
Mr. Blair graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in electrical engineering and worked for the Raytheon Corp. in that capacity for 30 years. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, achieving the rank of staff sergeant, and was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Parish.
He was the loving father of four sons, James Blair and wife Renay of Marlborough, Richard Blair and wife Denise of Marlborough, Timothy Blair and wife Julia of Bellingham, and Garrett Blair of Marlborough, and one daughter; Maureen King of Marlborough. He also leaves his siblings, Norman of West Springfield and Doris of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, Todd, Allison, Aimee, Phillip, Timothy, Nicholas, Amanda, Michael, Stephen, Matthew and Daniel; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday June 16, at 10 a.m., from the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Burial will be at a later date.
