Denise M. Martin, 82Shrewsbury – Denise M. (Williams) Martin, 82, a resident of the Southgate Community in Shrewsbury, died Sunday June 12, 2011 in UMass Memorial Medical Center -Memorial Campus after an extended illness.

She leaves behind two sons, Paul D. Lynch of Durham, N.H. and Michael K. Lynch and his wife, Suzanne, of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; two daughters, Katherine A. Lynch of Sonoma, Calif. and Deborah E. Finch and her husband, David, of Charlton. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Lauren, Kevin and Morgan Lynch, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who each enriched her life in so many ways. She was predeceased by her former husband, Fred Q. Martin, and three brothers.

Born in Detroit, daughter of the late Herbert N. and Phyllis (Schultz) Williams, she graduated from Kingswood Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Mrs. Martin was a devoted mother to her four children and worked with her former husband to build a highly-successful manufacturing rep business when they lived in both Grosse Pointe and St. Clair, Mich. She was an active member of the Junior League and the St. Clair Country Club.

In 2004, she moved to Massachusetts into the Southgate Community in Shrewsbury, where she lived life to its fullest, making many new friends and participating in golf, bowling, the Flower Committee and the Senior Olympics. She was truly able to enjoy the symphony, the theater and the arts with her many friends. She enjoyed exploring the coast of Maine and planned a trip each year to discover a new region.

A faithful member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Worcester, it was there she found her spiritual connection through the music created by the phenomenal choir and the historically significant Aeolian Skinner organ, which was installed at the church in 1933.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services celebrating Mrs. Martin's life Saturday June 18, at 11 a.m., at All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving St., Worcester. Calling hours will be private. After cremation, inurnment will take place in the Columbarium at All Saints Episcopal Church of Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to All Saints Episcopal Church Memorial Fund in Mrs. Martin's name at 10 Irving St., Worcester, MA 01609.
