Boylston – John P. “Jack” Villa, 73, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Thursday June 16, 2011, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center after an illness.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Ruth “Taffy” Hobbs of Boylston, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Born in Worcester, the son of the late John J. and Alice (Grenon) Villa, he attended Shrewsbury schools. After serving his country as a member of the U.S. Army, he worked for Amorello Construction and later Spag's Supply as a buildings manager. Among his hobbies and interests, he loved to build and sail radio-controlled yachts on Lake Quinsigamond.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Tuesday June 21, at 10 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial plans are private.
