Southborough – Fourth-grader Emily Shaw waters plants in the courtyard of Neary Elementary School during the June 6 session of Green Thumb Garden Club, an after-school program offered by Southborough Recreation. Throughout the five-week course, students in fourth and fifth grade painted flower pots, built birdhouses, picked strawberries, and learned how to prune trees and weed a garden. The program was instructed by teacher's aides Nichole Panzera and Dee Kerner.
