Marlborough – Rolland E. “Bucky” Stafford, 66, died at his home Tuesday June 28, 2011, after a short period of failing health. He was the husband of Janice “Jan” (Proulx) Stafford, to whom he was married for 25 years.

Born in Orlando Fla., the son of the late Lewis and Elizabeth (Woodward) Stafford, he was currently residing in Marlborough. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and worked as a general contractor for himself and also for the Rosewood Associates for many years.

Mr. Stafford was a member of the Marlborough Fish and Game and a former member of the Riverside Rod and Gun Club in Hudson. He loved fishing, gardening and NASCAR races, which he attended every year in Loudon, N.H., but his greatest love was his family. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends in his second home, Skiff Lake in New Brunswick, Canada, where he spent countless hours fishing.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters; Danielle Villella and husband Steven, Kerri Stafford and boyfriend Jeff Pike, Melissa Cronin and husband Tim, and Crystall Hollenkamp and boyfriend Mark Raybould; two sisters, Betsy Turner and husband Wes and Nancy Simmonds and husband Skip; one aunt, Ginny Bates; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Jesslyn, Zachary, Jarod, Stephanie, Danny, William, Dale, Saige, Rylee; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Saturday July 2, at 10 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will be at a later date.
