Westborough – For the second consecutive year, Westborough athlete and graduating senior Sarah Hart has qualified to compete at the U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals to be held this year in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Rowing for Community Rowing Inc., based in Brighton, Hart was in the club's top women's varsity eight boat that medalled silver at the recent two-day regional qualifiers held on the Merrimack River in Lowell. With regional qualifying races taking place nationwide, her boat is currently among the top 18 in the country.

This year, Hart will be in the stroke seat for the boat – a position that requires her to set the rate and rhythm for the other seven rowers for the duration of the 2,000-meter race. She's hoping to improve upon last year's result when her boat took eighth place nationally overall.

In the fall, Hart will become a freshman at the University of Notre Dame, Ind. where she intends to study developmental psychology and will also row for the NCAA Division 1 women's crew team.
