Shrewsbury Social Club helps community

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Social Club (SSC), formerly known as the Welcome Wagon Club of Shrewsbury, has completed its second year after its official name change July 1, 2009.

This year the SSC is pleased to offer another Sunday opening for the Shrewsbury Public Library in January, 2011. Melanie Petrucci, outgoing SSC Board President, said, “The Shrewsbury Public Library is a tremendous resource for the entire community and I am thrilled that the Shrewsbury Social Club can partner with the SPL by sponsoring a Sunday opening again in 2012.”

Other charitable donations to the Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services – St. Anne's Free Medical Clinic, the SELCO Share the Warmth program, the Shrewsbury Education Foundation and the Shrewsbury chapter of the American Red Cross's Relay for Life, as well as the American Heart Association, Veteran's Inc., The Shrewsbury Senior Center and ADVISE. The SSC reported giving over $2,000 in monetary donations and support to many projects throughout the year.
