Pearl May Heck, 93Shrewsbury – Pearl May Heck, 93, died Friday July 8, 2011.

She leaves her beloved husband of 73 years, Louis A. Heck of Shrewsbury; two sons, Robert L. and his wife Nancy of Sutton and Albert J.B. and his wife Mary of North Grafton; a daughter, Elizabeth M. Dean of South Yarmouth; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Worcester, she attended schools in Worcester and graduated from high school in 1936. Her life was dedicated to her family as a wife, mother and grandmother.

For a short time, Mrs. Heck owned and operated Edgemere Variety Store in Shrewsbury and was a Girl Scout leader. She also worked at the W.T. Grant store in Worcester and later in the billing department of Norton Abrasives in Worcester. For six years, she was the drummer of the Ragg Mopps Combo and along with her husband Louis (trumpet), son Robert (keyboard) and Al Seilius (vocals) played the music of 1890 to 1960 for the senior circuit for miles around Worcester County.

Calling hours are Tuesday July 12, from 9 to 10:15 a.m., at the Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by the celebration of a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. (at Blithewood Ave.) in Worcester. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Leicester.
