Northborough – Louise M. (Colaizzi) Travers, 81, died Saturday July 16, 2011, at University Massachusetts Health Care Center, Worcester after several years of battling with heart disease.

She leaves behind her four sons, Michael Travers of Framingham, Paul Travers of Mashpee, Daniel Travers of Sandwich and Peter Travers of Northborough; her companion of over 40 years, James Pickard of Northborough; two grandchildren, Daniel Travers Jr. and his wife Shelly of Holden and Dylan Travers of Sandwich; a sister, Rita Albanese of West Roxbury; and several nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Boston, the daughter of the late Anthony and Caroline (Colaizzi) Colaizzi, she graduated from Girls High School in Boston and worked as the former New England Telephone Learning Center Librarian in Marlborough for 19 years until her retirement.

Mrs. Travers loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Daytona Beach, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Atlantic City and the Dutch Country of Pennsylvania. Another of her great loves was her love for Siamese cats. Her first cat was Caesar, who lived for 20-plus years. Then came Sue- Ling, then Ziggy and finally the two house demolition experts, Sandy and Andy.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday July 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. The funeral service will be held Wednesday July 20, at 11 a.m., in Hays Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
