Barbara Scott, 95Marlborough – Barbara (Fritchie) Scott, 95, died Saturday July 16, 2011, at Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick.

A lifelong Marlborough resident, Mrs. Scott was the daughter of the late Frank and Delphine (St. Michel) Fritchie and the wife of former Marlborough Chief of Police, the late Clifford Scott, who died in 1977. A graduate of St. Anne's Academy, she began working for New England Telephone & Telegraph as an operator and later as a service monitor, retiring in 1981.

She had been an active member of the former St. Mary's Parish, involved with many aspects of the parish community, including Our Lady of the Assumption Guild, and served on numerous committees and programs. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Marlborough Historical Society, and the Friends of the Library.

Mrs. Scott enjoyed an active life, traveled frequently and extensively, and attended classes at Framingham State University while in her 70s.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Clifford Scott Jr. and his wife Dr. Mary Scott of Natick, Randy Scott and his wife Mary of Upton, and Ellen Cutone of Westborough; her grandchildren, Alycia Markowski, Jonathan Cutone, Jake Cutone, Kimberly Chagnon, Michael Scott and Timothy Scott; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Evelyn Harrison.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday July 21, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery on Beach Street in Marlborough. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday July 20, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
