Rose M. Pellegrino, 91Shrewsbury – Rose M. (Laconte) Pellegrino, 91, formerly of Worcester, passed away Sunday July 24, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. Her husband, Joseph J. Pellegrino Sr., passed away in 1977.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph J. Pellegrino Jr. and his wife Susan of Basking Ridge, N.J. and Donald J. Pellegrino and his wife Deborah of Spencer; her daughter, Carol A. Loader and her husband Joseph of Northborough; a brother, Carmine Laconte of Worcester; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert J. Pellegrino; a brother, Philip Laconte; and three sisters, Mary Laconte, Yolanda Abruzzese and Theresa Lavin.

Born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Anna (Ferro) Laconte, she had lived in the city most of her life and was a graduate of Girls Trade School. She later moved to Shrewsbury and resided there for 19 years.

Mrs. Pellegrino, a homemaker, was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann's Parish and loved to play bingo.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday July 27 from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass at 12 p.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery of Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held Wednesday July 27, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., in the funeral home prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
