Westborough – Zigmund “Ziggy” Porada, 93, died at home Wednesday Aug. 3, 2011, peacefully in his sleep.
He is survived by his nine children, Thomas Porada, of Westborough; Joan Kral, Cecilia Kirsner and Dorothy Woodward, all of Florida; Margaret Smilek, Mary Woodward Thomas, Charles Woodward and Alan Woodward, all of New Jersey; and Linda Seggel of Maryland. He also leaves many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his brother, Edward Porada, of Bayonne, N.J. He is survived two wives, Agnes Fedock Porada and Margaret Woodward Porada.
Mr. Porada, formerly of New Jersey, moved to Westborough in 2003. He was an active member of the Westborough Civic Club, an avid fisherman and a lifelong ham radio operator (WA2ZWB).
A calling hour will be held Saturday Aug. 6, from 5 to 6 p.m., at the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Funeral services and burial are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
