Hudson – John T. “Jack” Kuras, 88, died Saturday Aug. 6, 2011, at John T. Kuras, 88Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of M. Claire (Fenton) Kuras, who died in 1996.

Born in Central Falls, R.I., the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Pysz) Kuras, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a member of the 104th Infantry Timberwolves. He was awarded the Purple Heart from wounds he received as a result of enemy action in Germany March 2, 1945.

Mr. Kuras was the owner and operator of K.B.M. Transportation Co. in Hudson for many years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Lodge in Hudson and longtime usher and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.

He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Kuras of Hudson and Donna Atkins of Hudson, and his two grandchildren, Amanda Atkins of Boston and Courtney Atkins of Hudson.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday Aug. 11, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday Aug. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central St., Hudson.
