Video: Northborough community gardens grand opening

Northborough's community gardens opened August 13th where town officials greeted local residents who flocked to the site's location on 80 Valentine rd.

Mike Strickland, a Boy Scout from Northborough spent months building the infrastructure needed for the site of the town's community gardens as a part of his Eagle Scout requirement. He teamed up with 40 other Scouts to build the 10 plots which currently hold a variety of vegetables and flowers.

The community gardens are a part of “building a healthier Northborough,” a program currently in its second year aimed at lowering obesity rates and promoting healthy lifestyles in the town.
