Hudson – Manuel Cabral, 89, died Monday Aug. 15, 2011, at Marlborough Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Filomena (Chaves) Cabral of Hudson.
Born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores in Portugal, he was son of the late Jose and Maria (Santos) Cabral and served in the Portuguese National Army. He was a longtime resident of Hudson and was employed by the S&F Concrete Co. in Hudson for many years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Maria Griffin and her husband Paul of Framingham; Jose Cabral, husband of the late Leonor Cabral of Hudson; Genoveva Gracia and her husband Carlos of Hudson; Louis Cabral of Hudson; and Zelia Chaves and her husband Paulo of Hudson. He is also survived by his brother, Jose Cabral of Hudson, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Antonio Cabral in 1987, and sister, Maria Santos in 2011.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday Aug. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central St., Hudson.
