Shrewsbury – Thomas James Mullen, 82, passed away in Golden Living Thomas J. Mullen, 82Center – The Hermitage of Worcester.

He is survived by his loving sister, Kathleen Mullen-Morrow and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Francis, and two sisters, Judith Kowalik and Vera Buron.

Born in Worcester, son of the late Edward and Vera (Hildreth) Mullen, he had lived in Shrewsbury all his life.

Mr. Mullen was educated at the Randolph School for the Deaf and the Upsala Street School for the Deaf. He was a lifelong member of the Worcester Deaf Club, which allowed him to venture on many excursions and enjoy his bingo games, and a member of Saint Anne's Church. He had worked as a custodian for Frem Company, before retiring. He had also worked for the former Brunelle Electroplating Company.

A Funeral Mass for will be celebrated Wednesday Aug. 17, at 12 p.m. in Saint Anne's Church, 120 Boston Tpke. (Route 9), Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery of Upton. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Central Mass Deaf Senior Center, P.O. Box 626, Fiskdale, MA 01518.
