Northborough – Mary E. (Harding) Brooks, 76, died Sunday Aug. 21, 2011 at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Ariz.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Mary Ellen Brooks of Surprise, Ariz. and Robbie A. Powers of Northborough; two grandchildren, Robert B. Powers of Avondale, Ariz. and Ashley A. Powers of Surprise, Ariz.; a sister, Violette Kiser of Arizona; and a daughter of the heart, Gail Forsberg of Northborough. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert R. Brooks, who passed away in 2009.
Born and raised in Worcester, she attended Worcester Girl's Trade School and worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. in Worcester for many years. She lived in Northborough for 51 years and moved to Arizona in 2006.
Calling hours will be held Friday Aug. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Her funeral Mass will be held Saturday Aug. 27, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
