Region – Brandon Proteau, 6, learns about water conservation from instructor Molly Banks during the Aug. 11 session of the free Water Wise Workshops, offered by OARS at Memorial Beach in Marlborough.
Throughout the five-week course, children ages 6 to 10 learned how to build a watershed, discovered plants and animals that live in the water, tested water quality, and photographed the waterside. Workshops were also held at Lake Chauncy in Westborough.
OARS will conduct its 25th annual River Cleanup in several communities including Hudson, Marlborough, Northborough and Westborough, scheduled for Saturday morning, Sept. 17. For information, visit www.oars3rivers.org.
