Southborough – Southborough resident Lily Schaefer, 10, recently returned from San Diego after competing in figure skating events at State Games of America.
This competition, held every other year, requires that skaters qualify at the Bay State Games first. Schaefer, who qualified in both 2010 and 2011 and competed in both United States Figure Skating Association and ISI events while at State Games. She won a total of five medals at the competition: two gold, two silver and a bronze.
Schaefer is a member of the Skating Club of Boston and trains at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough.
