“Hiking Through History” with Westborough Community Land TrustWestborough – Sunday, Sept. 18, at 1:30 p.m., join members of Westborough Community Land Trust for a 2.5-mile hike through a newly re-opened section of an old woods road through the Westborough Wildlife Management Area, from the days of the old Lyman School.

The new trail goes north through a wide variety of habitats, including some beautiful deep woods. Participating hikers will then loop back through the farmer's fields of the State Hospital and follow the shore of Lake Chauncy. Learn about the history of the area, and see the remnants of old stone walls from the property's farm days. There may even be the opportunity to catch a glimpse of an osprey or some visiting waterfowl.

Families are welcome to take part in this hike. Hikers should meet at the Lake Chauncy boat ramp, off Chauncy Street. For more information, e-mail [email protected] or visit http://westboroughlandtrust.org.
