Hudson – Richard A. Silva, 82, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann M. (Bilodeau) Silva, who died in April 2011.

Born in Marlborough and raised in Hudson, son of the late Emanuel and Mary (O”Brien) Silva, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard and was a life member of the Hudson Lodge of Elk's and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.

Mr. Silva was employed for many years by Wonder Bread Bakery in Natick until retiring in 1995. He was also employed as a salesman by John Hancock Insurance Co. of Boston for 25 years and worked for the former LaPointe's Machine Shop in Hudson prior to John Hancock.

He is survived by his three children, Robert Silva and his wife Erin of Hudson, Paul Silva and his spouse William Shaw of Hopkinton, and Peter Silva and his wife Kelly of Hubbardston. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Arianna, Morgan, Madeline, Rylee, Jordyn, Owen, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three siblings.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson, with burial at Saint Michael's Cemetery of Hudson to be held at a later date. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central St., Hudson.
