Shewsbury – David P. Cordella Jr., 31, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at his home.
He is survived by his parents, David P. Cordella Sr. and Mary Jane (Bianchi) Cordella of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Julie Agbay and her husband Peter of Shrewsbury and Amanda Cordella and her husband Mikal Morello of Brighton; his maternal grandfather, Alfred Bianchi of Rutland; a nephew, Andrew Agbay; a niece, Marin Agbay; and many aunts, uncles, cousin and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Helen (McFadden) Bianchi, and his paternal grandparents, Frederick P. and Louise (Zolla) Cordella.
Born in Worcester, he graduated from Shrewsbury High School where he was involved in the hockey team that won the state championship. He also played Shrewsbury Youth Hockey, Little League and Babe Ruth baseball for the Town of Shrewsbury while growing up.
Mr. Cordella was the owner and an electrician for Cordella Electric for six years, and was a member of St. Mary's Church in Shrewsbury. He loved cooking and spending time with his niece and nephew. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. The Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel of Worcester is assisting with arrangements.
