Shrewsbury Public Library offers events for adultsShrewsbury – Shrewsbury Public Library, located at 609 Main St., is offering several upcoming events for adults, including Spanish Classes for Adults, which will be held Thursdays, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., for beginners in Spanish. Come and learn a new and useful language, taught by Tony Marin, a bilingual high school teacher.

Other programs include Financial Choices that Matter, an ongoing series of talks by Alvin B. Rosenblum on financial topics of general interest, to be held Thursday, Sept. 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The topic, “Be Prepared for the Financial Challenges in Retirement,” is a discussion about overcoming challenges and creating income you can live on for the rest of your life. Other programs will be held Oct. 20 and Nov. 17. Pre-registration is required.

The Women's Fashion Series will be held Thursdays, Sept. 15 and Sept. 29, from 7 to 8 p.m. The Sept. 15 event focuses on True Colors: Color Analysis and Consultations. Understanding how to wear color and what colors you should wear to create a more radiant, taller, and slimmer you. Sept. 29 will cover Dress Your Shape, Not Your Size. Learn the secrets of looking taller and slimmer by dressing your shape, not your size. Other sessions will be held Oct. 13 and Oct. 27, and pre-registration is required.

The Shrewsbury Genealogy Club meets Monday, Sept. 26, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Whether you'se new to genealogy or an old pro, come and share with other family history lovers, and pick up a new idea, resource, or approach!

Finally, the French Conversation Circle meets Monday, Sept. 12, at 4 p.m., and Monday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to practice speaking in French, on a variety of subjects and topics of interest to everyone who shows up!
