Sister Jacqueline TrottierMarlborough – Sister Jacqueline Trottier, a Sister of St. Anne, known in religion as Sister Marie Monique du Rosaire, died at the age of 92 at Marie Esther Health Center Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011. She was in the 70th year of Religious Life.

She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Honora (Massicotte) Trottier of Newton. She completed her elementary education at St. John the Evangelist School in that city and obtained her high school diploma from St. Anne Academy in Marlborough. Sister also held a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Anna Maria College, Paxton.

She entered the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Anne in Lachine, Quebec, in 1939 and was professed in 1941. Sister Trottier began her teaching career at the Indian Reservation in Kahnawake, Quebec. The following year, she began a long teaching career in the business departments of the Congregation's private boarding schools, high schools, and postgraduate secretarial schools in Quebec. She was also acting principal for six years at St. Anne Academy Postgraduate Secretarial School in Montreal before transferring to the General Secretariat of the Congregation.

After ministering for 42 years in Quebec, Canada, she accepted a position of Secretarial Assistant to the Provincial Treasurer at St. Anne Provincial Headquarters in Marlborough. She served in this capacity for 15 years until ill health obliged her to retire from active service.

Sister was predeceased by eight sisters, and seven brothers. Sister is survived by numerous nieces and nephew, and her Sisters in Community.

She will be waked Sunday, Sept. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m., at St. Anne Convent, 720 Boston Post Road East in Marlborough, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m., in the Convent Chapel with burial in St. Mary Cemetery of Marlborough. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
