Take a walk through Shrewsbury's history Sept. 10Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Historical Society will be presenting the 7th annual “Walk Through History Tour” Saturday Sept. 10 at Mountain View Cemetery.

Join the historical society on a guided walking tour where you will meet a few of the early townspeople – some better known than others – who once lived in Shrewsbury. A completely new set of town notables and characters will be re-enacted and highlighted again this year.

The tours, which run from 6:30 to 9 p.m., will first gather at the 1830 Schoolhouse next to the Congregational Church. Groups will then proceed through the Artemas Ward Memorial Entrance into the oldest and most historic part of Mountain View Cemetery for a visit into the past.

Admission is $5 and tickets are available at the 1830 Schoolhouse on the night of the event. Please bring your own flashlight. For more information, contact the Shrewsbury Historical Society at 1-508-842-5239 or e-mail [email protected].
