Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson celebrates anniversary with upcoming concertsMarlborough/Hudson – This fall, the Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of its historic building, which was constructed by abolitionists in 1861. As part of the celebration, the Unitarian Church will be holding the New Abolitionist Concert Series, including two concerts.

The church will host Holly Near will be in concert Friday, Oct. 14. Near is a powerful and consistent voice for the abolition of fear, hatred, injustice and war. For nearly 40 years, she has been “singing for our lives” with great charm and humor. Joining her will be John Bucchino and special guest Linda Tillery. A pre-concert starts at 7:15 p.m., followed by the concert at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the pre-concert talk and concert are limited and cost $35. Tickets for the concert only are $25 in advance or $30 at the door (if available). To purchase tickets or for more information, call 1-978-562-9180 or e-mail [email protected].

Also, Kim and Reggie Harris, dynamic ambassadors of hope and joy, will be in concert Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free with a donation of food.

All funds raised and food donated by these concerts will go to Marlborough and Hudson food pantries and UU-MassAction to help end hunger.

The programs are offered by the Spiritual Growth Center of the Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson. Unless stated otherwise, programs take place at the church, located at 80 Main St. in Hudson, across from Town Hall.
