Motorcycling for scholarship funds
Marlborough – Some of the more than 300 motorcyclists complete the 50-mile course of the fifth annual Dollars for Scholars Bike Ride, held Aug. 27, beginning and ending at the Marlborough Moose Lodge. Afterward, the event was open to the public for dinner and live musical entertainment. Proceeds will go to the Citizens Scholarship Foundation (CSF) of Marlborough and the Shawna Jean Larassa Memorial Foundation. Through its Dollars for Scholars program, the CSF has presented scholarships to numerous city residents for over 20 years. The scholarship foundation in memory of Larassa was established by her family after she died at age 19 in a car accident in 2009.
