Marlborough – Robert M. Sneddon, 87, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the husband of Jean (McGee) Sneddon, who died in 1988.
He leaves three grandchildren, John E. Ruby III of Marlborough and Alexander and Taylor Peckham, both of Hudson; many nephews and nieces; and a close family friend, Lisa J. Gemma of Shrewsbury. He was the father of Sandra J. Peckham of Marlborough, who died in 1998, and the brother of the late William Sneddon, John Sneddon, Jr., and two sisters, Margaret Sweeney and Elizabeth Sanford, all of Hudson.
A graduate of Hudson High School, Class of 1942, he was a facility manager for AriTech in Framingham for 12 years before retiring in 1996. Previously, he was a property manager at Freeman Harringhton Co. in Burlington for several years and Deerfoot Farms in Southborough, where he worked as a shipping supervisor for 21 years. Following his retirement he worked part time at Bottomline Exchange in Southborough for many years.
Mr. Sneddon was a former member of the First United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener who enjoyed reading and all sports. He was a caring and outgoing father and grandfather.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held Monday, Sept. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
