Saint John's PioneerFest offers food, fun and footballShrewsbury – Saint John's High School welcomes families from Shrewsbury and surrounding towns to join its students and alumni at PioneerFest 2011, a family fun fair to be held Saturday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Pioneer Field, the school's athletic complex on Main Street.

Attractions at the fair include music and magic performances, face painting and crafts, a dunk tank, pony rides and inflatable amusements such as a Moon Walk and Gladiator Joust. The band Jug O Punch will play at 2:30 p.m.

Admission is $5 per adult, free for children 10 and under. Food is available for $2 per adult and free for children. Admission to PioneerFest includes entry to that afternoon's varsity football game at 1 p.m. between Saint John's and Catholic Memorial High School. The game will be preceded by a moment of silence honoring former coaches J.R. Thomas “93 and Tony Wood, who passed away this summer.
