Westborough – After months of meetings, Westborough officials are confident that a thorough site plan review has been done for a new CSX Transportation and TRANSFLO Terminal Services transfer facility to be located on Walkup Drive. As such, the plan was approved by the Board of Selectmen Sept. 13.
But some officials and citizens in neighboring Southborough are not so sure. Some have expressed the opinion that CSX has not duly listened to their concerns about the safety and the exact types of materials that will be transported on the rail cars going through the facility. They also have raised concerns about how secure the cars will be after business hours and how trucks carrying materials to and from the site will end up impacting traffic in Southborough.
