Northborough – Dianne M. (Hewitt) Ryan Ritchie, 60, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011. She was a strong woman who, without complaint, battled pancreatic cancer for the last year of her life. She left us peacefully while in the comfort of her own home. She was a strong willed and loving individual. She will be missed as a mother, grandmother, sister and friend.She leaves behind her two sons, Shawn Ryan and his wife Tara of Brimfield and Timothy and his fiancé Bridget of Northborough; her daughter, Amy Sanborn and her husband Geordie of Holden; four grandchildren, Devon, Molly, Sierra and Timothy; two brothers, Roger Hewitt of Hope, Maine and Stephen Hewitt of Standish, Maine; one sister, Barbara Pearson of Warwick, R.I.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael W. Ritchie, who passed away in 2009.
Born in Natick, daughter of the late Roger E. and Louise (Hurd) Hewitt, she graduated from Framingham North in 1969 and from the former Chandler School for Women. Shee and her husband Michael owned and operated Ritchie Bus Lines of Northborough for over 25 years.
Mrs. Ritchie enjoyed traveling to North Conway, N.H. and Wells, Maine with her late husband Michael. She also loved her dogs and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 29,from 4 to 7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. The funeral and burial will be private.
