John W. Ure, 59Northborough – John W. Ure, 59, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 after a short battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna J. (Ritchie) Ure; a son, Nathan P. Ure and his wife Andrea of Hubbardston; a daughter, Sarah J. Parker and her husband Mark of Northborough; five grandchildren; five sisters, Janet Pratt of Grafton, Diane Fernow of Simsbury, Conn., Jeanne Kamyck of Westborough, Barbara McGlinchy of Auburn, and Karen Bleakney; a brother- in- law, Steve Ritchie of Northborough; and a dear friend, his first wife, Doreen Devlin of Hubbardston.

Raised in Westborough, the son of the late William S. and Jeanne (Theriault) Ure, he worked as a yardman for M&G Convoy for 12 years and as a diesel mechanic for Ritchie Bus Lines for 27 years.

He was a member of the Sons of Northborough American Legion, the Marlborough Eagles and the Marlborough Fish & Game where he served on the Board of Directors for 9 years and as Chairman of the Board for 4 years. He loved fishing, archery, cooking and was an avid NASCAR fan.

The Ure family would like to thank the staff of Charles River Medical Center, Metro West Home Care & Hospice and Marlborough Hospital ICU for their support and devotion.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, from 12 to 2 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
