Youth Center treated to a cookoutMarlborough – Tyler Hardy, 5, and his sister, Kaila, 8, are served at the buffet line of a cookout held Aug. 26 to commemorate the conclusion of a successful summer camp at the Youth Center of Countryside Village, a subsidized apartment complex. The menu included barbecued burgers, hot dogs, salads, cupcakes and ice cream, prepared and served by volunteers from Brookfield Renewable Power and other community leaders. The Mayor's Youth Commission sponsored the cookout and the Marlborough Summer Lunch Program provided meals three times weekly throughout the summer.

Under the direction of Patty Zilembo, the Youth Center will continue to be active throughout the school year with about 70 children and teens visiting for homework help, participating in community service projects, and enjoying sports, computer time and dinner-and-movie nights.
