Hudson – Mary (Donovan) Harrold, 67, a longtime resident of Hudson, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Fairlawn Rehab Hospital in Worcester after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Harrold Sr. of Hudson; her sons, John Harrold Jr. and Dan Harrold, both of Hudson; her daughter, Amy (Harrold) Sardnola and her husband Jim of Sutton, as well as her siblings, Timothy Donovan and his wife Gwen of Westford, Michael Donovan and his wife Kathy of Stow and Ellen Searles and her husband Bob of Ruckersville, Va.. She is also survived by her only grandchild, Holly Sardnola, who was the light of her life.
Born on May 16, 1944 to the late Kathleen (McKenna) and Joseph Donovan of Arlington, she attended Arlington High School and was a graduate of Simmons College in Boston.
Mrs. Harrold was an active member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson and sang as an Alto in the church choir for many years. She enjoyed music and working with her hands, particularly sewing and woodworking projects.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc., 50 Central Street, Hudson.
