Kenneth R. Blomstrom, 84Northborough – Kenneth R. Blomstrom, 84, died peacefully at home Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Mary V. (Cappuccio) Blomstrom; four daughters, Lynne Sayah of Grafton, Gayle Blomstrom of Sutton, Diane Salmonsen of Sutton and Denise Renaud of Millbury; one son, Paul Renaud of Wellfleet; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Madelaine Scott, and one nephew.

Born and raised in the Quinsigamond Village section of Worcester, he was the son of the late Iver C. and Ethel S. (Johnson) Blomstrom. He served in the Army during World War II in Japan and later in the Navy Reserves for many years.

Mr. Blomstrom worked for the former Norton Co. in Worcester and later at Coppus Engineering in Worcester, as a Purchasing Manager for 27 years, until his retirement in 1994.

He was an avid reader and World War II airplane enthusiast, as well as a history buff.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
