Mary Grilli, 96Shrewsbury – Mary (Dagostino) Grilli, 96, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 1, 2011 after a period of declining health, with her devoted family gathered beside her. She was a member of St Mary's Church. Her cherished husband of 68 years, Emil A. Grilli, passed away in 2006.

Survived by her brothers, Anthony “Tony” Dagostino of Worcester and Dennis, Vincent “Jimmy” Dagostino of Shrewsbury and Daniel Dagostino of Worcester; she had a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Although she had no children of her own, she had a special loving relationship with eight nieces and nephews and their families, including Maryanne Helenius and family; Richard and James Pickett and families; Michael, Elaine, and Thomas Grilli; and Nancy and son Christopher Grilli. She also shared a close relationship with her grandniece and grandnephew, Paula Fleming and family and Sam Hickson and family. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carlo J. and George Dagostino, and two sisters, Congetta Campanile and Ann Pickett.

Born in Worcester, a daughter of Frank and Catherine (Cataldo) Dagostino, she grew up in Worcester and moved to Shrewsbury over sixty years ago.

Mrs. Grilli enjoyed the company and gatherings of family. Her inspiration and greatest joy were found in her support of her husband, Emil, and his success.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4 from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial next to her husband will be at Mountain View Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to offer their respects from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the Mass.
