Calling all nature photographers: Westborough Community Land Trust holds photo contest

Westborough – The Westborough Community Land Trust “Wild in Westborough” photo contest will accept submittals at the Tatnuck Bookseller, 18 Lyman St., Thursday and Friday, Oct. 13 and 14, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Area photographers of all ages are invited to enter their photographs of Westborough's natural beauty. All photographs must be taken in Westborough of natural subjects, such as landscapes, flora, or wildlife.

Sunday, Oct. 23, an opening reception will be held for the exhibit from 2 to 5 p.m. at Tatnuck Bookseller. The “Wild in Westborough” exhibit will display a juried selection of the photographs from Oct. 22 to Nov. 6 at Tatnuck Bookseller. Awards will be given for Best of Show (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), plus a Popular Vote Award chosen by exhibit visitors.

“We hope that area photographers will be excited about capturing the untamed places in town and will share their creativity with the general public in our Wild in Westborough photo contest,” said Sharon Williams, contest coordinator.

Contest rules for participants are:

Drop-off: Photos must be delivered to Tatnuck Bookseller Oct. 13 and 14, from 6 to 8 p.m., or Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Entries: All entries must be labeled on back with name, phone number, photo title and location. Entry forms available on www.westboroughlandtrust.org. Photos may be color or black and white, but may not be digitally enhanced. No photos smaller than 5″ x 7″ before matting. All entries must be matted (no frames) and protected by glassine envelopes. Each photographer may submit up to 2 (two) photos.

Pick up: All photos must be picked up at Tatnuck Bookseller Sunday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. Identification must be presented to pick up any photos.
