St. Matthias Parish in Marlborough continues speaker seriesMarlborough – The Adult Enrichment Ministry of St. Matthias Parish, located at 409 Hemenway St. in Marlborough, will offer “The New Translation of the Mass – How Did We Get Here and Where are We Going?” Saturday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m., as part of its speaker series. The discussion will led by Fr. Francis P. O”Brien.

Throughout much of the English-speaking world, the Roman Catholic Church is preparing its priests and parishes for the most significant changes to the celebration of the Mass in the more than 40 years since the church permitted English in place of the Latin. Join St. Matthias Parish to learn about the wording intended to be more faithful to the scriptures and preview some of the changes considered by many to inspire depth, beauty and reverence in the ways that we worship.

Wine, beer, soft drinks and appetizers will be served at the discussion, and tickets are $10. Tickets are available after masses or by contacting the parish office at 1-508-460-9255 or [email protected]. The discussion is free for children and teens. Only a limited number of tickets will be available at the door, so those interested in attending should reserve their spot ahead of time.
