Hudson Public Library presents Gravestone Girls Oct. 22Hudson – Join the Hudson Public Library Saturday, Oct. 22, starting at 2 p.m., for a 90-minute “virtual tour” by the Gravestone Girls, who create decorative artwork using the beautiful and primitive images carved on old New England gravestones. The Gravestone Girls will discuss cemetery art, history and symbolism.

The program, called “Welcome to the Graveyard,” takes the audience from colonial burial grounds and into 21st century locations, examining why we have cemeteries and gravestones and why they look like they do. Pictures from Hudson cemeteries will also be featured. The Gravestone Girls will bring along samples of their gravestone artwork castings so everyone will have a hands-on experience.

For more information, stop in at the front desk of the Hudson Public Library, 3 Washington St., call 1-978-568-9644 or visit www.hudsonpubliclibrary.com.
